DUTIES OF CADETS

Division Officer

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Organize, control and move cadet divisions as a battalion
• Develop plan of the day
• Enforce plan of the day
• Properly and efficiently utilize subordinates
• Coordinate with support staff for supplies and equipment to support the day’s trainings
• Perform duties as assigned
• Conduct inspections and rehearsals to insure readiness
• Insure physical readiness training is carried out
• Liaison between command staff and cadet leaders
• Carry out duties of Executive Officer in his/her absence
• Evaluate cadet leaders for promotions or improvements
• Utilize subordinates to maintain order and carry out assigned tasks
• Establish goal setting and evaluation for cadet leaders
• Assist subordinate cadet leaders with problem solving
• Insure that LPOs are being groomed for Division Officer role
• Instruct training classes in classroom environment
• When needed, insure Quarter Deck is manned
• When needed insure that Watch Rotations are scheduled
• When requested by Master at Arms, provide cadets for security or safety details
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• Coordinate with LPOs to insure mess preparations are carried out
• Insure that LPOs work with their squad leaders to insure cadets work on Navy Courses

Master at Arms

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Insure that Security Watches are manned when needed
• When needed, insure Quarter Deck is manned
• When the unit is arriving at a training site, evaluate for safety and security risks
• Maintain order before, during and immediately after drill
• Conduct investigation in cases of unit or cadet items gone missing
• Be alert to possible harmful situations caused by cadets, adult staff or outsiders
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• In cases of safety or security emergencies, move cadets out of danger area
• Coordinate accountability formations after emergency evacuations
• Remember no harm to cadets and no harm to cadet property
• In case of medial situation, immediately coordinate needed medical attention is obtained
• Notify Division Officer and Command Staff of medical situations

Leading Petty Officer/Company Commander

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Organize, control and move cadet division as a division
• Enforce plan of the day for responsible division
• Properly and efficiently utilize subordinates
• Evaluate cadet leaders under your command for promotions or improvements
• Utilize subordinates to maintain order and carry out assigned tasks
• Inspire motivation for division
• Ensure safety of division
• When needed coordinate with Master at Arms
• Insure the ALPOs are being groomed for LPO role
• Instruct training classes in classroom environment
• When requested by Master at Arms, provide cadets for security or safety details
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• Coordinate mess preparations with Mess Officer

Assistant Leading Petty Officer/Assistant Company Commander

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Organize, control and move cadet division as a division
• Enforce plan of the day for responsible division
• Properly and efficiently utilize subordinates
• Evaluate cadet leaders under your command for promotions or improvements
• Utilize subordinates to maintain order and carry out assigned tasks
• Coordinate with squad leaders
• Account for Division attendance
• Coordinate chow for division
• Organize division formation for muster
• Carry out reports attendance report to LPO
• Carry out communication of and enforce training activities to the squads
• Ensure safety of division
• When needed coordinate with Master at Arms
• Inspire motivation for division
• Insure that Squad leaders are being groomed for ALPO role
• Instruct training classes in classroom environment
• When requested by Master at Arms, provide cadets for security or safety details
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• When LPO is absent, Coordinate mess preparations with Mess Officer
• Assist LPO in daily Division business
• In absence of LPO assume that role

Squad Leader

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Ensure Squad has proper uniform and equipment
• Organize, control and move cadet squad as a squad
• Supervise and inspect all tasks and details assigned to squad
• Enforce Plan of the Day for responsible squad
• Properly and Efficiently Utilize Subordinates
• Evaluate Cadets under your command for promotions or improvements
• Utilize subordinates to maintain order and carry out assigned tasks
• Account for squad attendance
• Organize squad formation for muster
• Carry out reports attendance report to ALPO
• Ensure safety of Squad members
• Inspire motivation for squad
• Insure that Asst Squad leaders are being groomed for Squad Leader role
• Instruct training classes in field environment
• Assist squad members with training goals
• Assist squad members with personal issues when appropriate
• Carry out goal setting of Squad Members
• When requested by Master at Arms, provide cadets for security or safety details
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• Insure squad members are working on their Navy Courses

Assistant  Squad Leader/Fire Team Leader

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• In absence of squad leader assume that role
• Assist Cadets under your command with improvements to their performance
• Utilize subordinates to maintain order and carry out assigned tasks
• Ensure safety of Squad members
• Inspire motivation for squad
• Assist squad members with personal issues when appropriate
• When requested by Master at Arms, provide cadets for security or safety details
• Insure no cadet travels alone when leaving immediate training area
• Insure squad members are working on their Navy Courses

• Follow all lawful orders issued by a superior
• Ensure a safe training environment
• Inspire motivation
• Do not travel alone when leaving immediate training area
• Insure Squad leader knows when you are leaving your squad area
• Be responsible for your completion of the Navy or League Courses assigned to you
• Do not harm cadets or cadet property
• Maintain self discipline
• Properly wear your uniform and maintain a military bearing
• Perform duties as assigned
• Be responsible for your physical fitness
• Know and follow the plan of the day
• Stand your watches properly
• Follow the chain of command for questions and issues
• Show proper respect and courtesies
• Use good judgment in communication, behavior and decisions
• Be on time
• Be motivated
• Maintain your attendance within acceptable levels
• Insure you bring correct required and needed equipment and uniforms to drill
